More about the release

There is a fierce DIY aesthetic to how I create music. I love to discard rules and see what happens. This also applies to the culturally accepted conventions of who is supposed to be able to do what, when... however, the why is just as important as the what. I am doing this for the love of it, to have my particular voice and perspective out there in the indie music world, to step into the discourse and create something, and most of all to connect with people like you. All I have ever done is make things, it's all I know how to do.

On "WHEN I WAS A KID" there was a point where I was trying to find an interesting way of dealing with the dreaded "solo" part...I was clear it was never going to be a guitar. So as I was standing around listening to that part and trying to figure it out, I saw a black plastic flexible corrugated foot pump tube sitting in a random box. I began twirling it as I listened to the mix. To my astonishment it was completely in tune and I realized depending on how fast I twirled it, the tube would "play" notes in different octaves. So I did maybe two takes and on the second take ended up with what I thought was a really beautiful whirling flute like sound. These kind of moments are what I live for... so unexpected and inexplicable
